Getting Microsoft Word to work with WordPress
I’ve been publishing inside the admin or WordPress (The Blog CMS this site runs on) and just recently thought I would try to use the Microsoft Word to WordPress publishing feature available in Word 07.
Setting up is pretty easy.
Click office button “new”
Select “New Blog Post”
In the setup, use the pull down to select “WordPress”
Enter your WordPress Admin URL with /
Enter your WordPress Admin login
THIS IS WHERE MOST MIGHT HAVE PROBLEMS
At this point, there is a trick in making it work that Microsoft does not tell you about. If you don’t do it you will get the dreaded “word cannot register your account blog” warning.
To fix this and get it to publish:
In the admin of your WordPress go to “Settings”
Click on “Writing”
Scroll down and check “XML-RPC” in the Remote Publishing features.
That’s it! From there, you are good to go with quickly publishing your blog articles from Word
